I have a 1977 GMC pickup did it originally have a converter?
V8 4 barrel. Heavy duty rating and with duel exhaust. I have owned it for more than 30 years and it did’t have one then. I have heard that it should and it shouldn’t.
K-15 rated 1/2 ton 4 wheel drive GVW 6200

It should have a convertor, as well as an EGR and PVC valve.
after 73 all vehicles should have PCV and EGR, and after 76 all vehicles should have a Cat Convertor. Unless yours was made in late 76 and badged as a 77 that is.
